FAQ ABOUT CERTIFIED TRANSLATION

Thank you so much for considering our company to handle your personal documents. We know that applying for immigration, a job, adoption, or whatever life event brought you to us, can be a stressful situation. We do our best to provide friendly, affordable, guaranteed work and take some of the stress off of you!

1. What is a Certified Translation?

Simply put, a certified translation attest that your translation is a complete and accurate translation of the original. Our certification letter contains the text: This is to certify that the following document, to the best of our knowledge and belief, is a true, accurate, and complete translation from [source language] into [target language]. We further certify that the translation was prepared by a recognized, certified, experienced, professional translator. This letter is printed on our letterhead and embossed with our corporate seal. Transfirex Translation Services has been incorporated in the state of Maryland continuously since 2001.

2. Does USCIS, United States Citizenship and Immigration Services, accept your certified translations?

Yes! We give a 100% guarantee that our translations will be accepted by USCIS.

3. How much does it costs?

We customize our costs based on your documents to give you the best price. However, we can give you some general guidelines. First, we have a minimum price which is $50 for Spanish, French, German, Turkish, and Italian and $75 for Arabic, Russian, and other languages. We charge up to an additional $10 if the document has handwriting and $10-$20 if the document requires extensive formatting (for example a large table of a college transcript). Additional pages will cost between $40-$75 each depending on language, number of words, formatting requirements, and handwriting. For example, an additional Spanish birth certificate might be $40, while a 450 word page of text might be $75. Please email us your scanned documents, and we will be happy to give you an exact quote.

4. Do you give any discounts?

We work hard to give you the best price. We give discounts to repeat customers. We understand that translations can get expensive for individuals, so we do our best to give you a great price. Keep in mind that this is professional work done by professionals who must be paid a professional rate. We are really quite reasonable. Consider how much you pay for your hair dresser, accountant, lawyer, plumber, or auto mechanic. We guarantee our work and do our best to offer you quality service and product.

5. What languages do you do?

Our most frequently requested languages are Spanish, French, Turkish, Arabic, Portuguese, German, Farsi, and Russian, but we do over 120 languages. Just ask!

6. I chose your company because you are local, but I can’t come during your office hours to pick-up my documents.

Just give us a call, and let us know when you can pick them up. We will do our best to accommodate you. We love to help out our neighbors and make this easy for you.

7. What’s the next step?

Scan your documents or take a really good picture and email them to us. Or stop-by (call first), and we will scan them for you. We will give you a quote, and then you need to confirm that you accept it. Any job under $100 can be paid for at pick-up. Jobs more than $100 require a 50% downpayment, unless you are a repeat customer. You can send payment by PayPal or stop by and pay with cash or check.

8. My language does not use the Roman alphabet.

If you have a language in another script say Arabic, Russian, or Farsi, for example, then please provide us with the Roman alphabet spelling of the names on the documents. It’s very important for all the documents that you submit to USCIS to have the same spelling of the names. For example, the spelling of your name on your visa and your birth certificate should be the same.
